Founded in 2026, the Bay Ridge Tenant Union (BRTU) is a member-led organization of tenants who unite to confront predatory landlords and fight for each other’s rights. BRTU is an autonomous organization that evolved from a project by the Bay Ridge Justice Collective and Brooklyn Eviction Defense.

We hold educational workshops; assist with the development of tenant associations; defend against landlord harrassment and eviction threats; and address chronic disrepair and illegal rent overcharges. If you are a tenant in Bay Ridge or surrounding neighborhoods, we invite you to join us!
